
We invite you to take part in the workshop “Editorial Board in Action: How to Organise a Journal’s Editorial Board in Line with the New MES Requirements”, which will run from September 4 to October 4, 2025, every Thursday, online.
The aim of the training is to familiarise editorial board members with the key requirements of the updated Procedure for forming the List of Professional Scientific Journals and to provide practical tools for organising effective, transparent, and ethically responsible editorial work.
Key training topics:
new requirements for the composition of the editorial board according to the draft MES order;
the roles of the Editor in Chief, Managing Editor, and international members;
publication ethics and the work of reviewers;
documenting editorial board members’ compliance with MES criteria through ORCID, Scopus, and Web of Science profiles;
monitoring journal performance and preparing for re certification by the MES.
Practical tools provided during the training:
a template dossier for an editorial board member (CV, profiles, certificates, and an ethics declaration);
a model structure for minutes of an editorial board meeting;
a compliance checklist for the journal in Category “B” and the relevant cluster;
an annual editorial board activity and achievements report template.
Expected outcomes:
participants will be able to organise the internal work of the editorial board according to the new standards;
each editorial board member will clearly understand their functional responsibilities;
the journal will be ready for monitoring, rating based evaluation, and confirmation of its status in the MES List.
